“Al dente” is an Italian cooking term referring to pasta that is firm to the teeth. It’s no coincidence that this board was designed to suit the style of our sander, Dominick Dente. The Al Dente is no soft noodle and responds well to a surfer looking to apply some extra pressure throughout their rail-to-rail maneuvers. Catch waves early and deep — you’ve got plenty of speed and drive to pump through fast sections or trim through flat spots. When you reach the open face, you’ve got heavy vertical hits and tight arcing wraps available with enough old-school flow to stop the old-heads from whining, “That’s not how you ride a longboard.” Traditional longboard glide and trim balanced against the needs of a more aggressive performance style make this an excellent one-board quiver or a great step-up board to satisfy dedicated loggers in bigger or punchier surf.
