STUBTOE
- Alternative Shortboard -
DESCRIPTION
A stubbed toe will make you say, "Damn!" This one is no different, but you'll be stoked about it. The StubToe is stubby like any other Simmons. We've given extra thought to the rail shapes and bottom contours to balance responsive liveliness against the forgiveness for which the Simmons style is known. With ample float packed in, you can ride it super-short and win a paddle battle with a logger. Harness every drop of sweet energy that a wave offers and transform it into speed to sit right in the pocket and deploy the skatey slashes or wide-arcing turns this board desires. Use the StubToe's abounding forgiveness to bring the feeling of good-wave performance to small days or to connect flat sections when conditions are gutless.
Shaper's Notes:
A good mini-simmons optimizes opportunities, which was the goal of this model. We wanted to create a board that brings the fun and ease of surfing good waves to less-than-ideal conditions (or, dare I say, more typical). Extra width, low entry rocker, and a parallel outline give you a blazing-fast board to help you scratch that shortboard itch when the waves aren’t on your side.
-
Blended rail shape combining the high-apex forgiveness of a 50/50 with the cornered drive and precision of a 60/40 for good surfing in bad waves.
-
Heavy single concave between fins provides lift for effortless skate and release through punchy slashing turns.
-
Rolled-bottom nose for high planing and extra forgiveness to balance the speed-hungry mellow rocker profile.
